QCI Healthcare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician. The ideal candidate must be willing to complete a 13 week contract in the Prescott Valley, AZ area.

Prepares intravenous admixtures, parenteral nutrition products and other sterile products accurately, utilizing approved sterile technique in accordance with USP 797 standards. Fills physician orders, medication kits, medication carts, or stock requisitions accurately. Replenishes medications in emergency crash carts accurately. Delivers medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas accurately per established schedule utilizing approved technological devices to verify accuracy of processes. Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations. Completes and documents inspections of all assigned medication storage areas at least monthly. Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs. Enters charges and credits for patient medications accurately. Answers the telephone, identifying self and department. Directs call to appropriate personnel. Appropriately triages incoming phone calls. Performs work within specified time frames. Adapts positively to frequent interruptions and changes in workload and/or work schedule.
Supports medication history collection endeavors: independently obtain, review, clarify, document and verify with the patient and/or family, their home/current medication list for patients that will be admitted to the hospital from the Emergency Department. The technician will utilize the patient’s pharmacy, family, caregiver, or prior office records if needed to further investigate and verify medications on, to be added or to be removed from the home/current medication list.
Cerner Millennium, Pyxis 4000, PharmacyKeeper Verification, PharmacyKeeper Activities, Baxter Repeater Pump.
Minimum 1 year compounded sterile products preparation experience. Hazardous (chemotherapeutic) drug handling training preferred. MUST pass media-fill, gloved finger-tip, and written competency assessment within 2 weeks of hire. Minimum 1 year experience with automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis 4000 preferred).
8hr Days – 40 hrs per week – weekends as needed
PLEASE NOTE: Position is contingent on passing media-fill, gloved finger-tip, and written competency assessment on day one.
- Must have Arizona Licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician AND National PTCB CPhT Certification
- BLS/CPR Certified
- Must have Experience: 1-3 years (Bare minimum 1 year to be considered)
